Paula Blevins is a goal-driven businesswoman. Perhaps it was appropriate that after meeting most of the goals she had set for herself, she decided to open a trophy shop.
Blevins, owner of C&S Trophies, 7 Broad Street, actually opened Blevins Trophies in West Rome in 2002 as a part time business for herself and her children. “I thought it would be a good experience in learning about business, as well as a chance for them to earn a little money,” Blevins said.
Early in 2003, Richard Scott, the “S” in C&S, approached her about buying his business downtown.
The deal was done and for a while, Blevins and her kids operated both stores, but finally got out of the West Rome location to focus on the more established downtown shop.
C&S Trophies offers a full line of trophies, plaques, ribbons, medals, signs, nametags and engraved gifts. Blevins also offers special cast plaques that can be made to order.
Blevins said the business has continued to grow through the years, thanks to the loyalty of many longtime customers, particularly the schools and individual coaches in the area.
C&S relocated from the 300 block of Broad Street to it’s current location in the Cotton Block in November of 2009. “I like the way this building is laid out,” Blevins said. It’s wider and I have better storage and work areas.”
C&S Trophies is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. For additional information, call C&S Trophies at 706-291-7363.
