At the Main Street Board of Directors meeting Feb. 6, the Rev. Chrispin Smith was presented a plaque for 15 years of dedicated service to the Main Street Program. Smith has been on the Main Street Board of Directors serving as treasurer since Morgan City became a Main Street Community in 1997. His term ended in December. Patterson volunteer fire department members, council members and city dignitaries gathered Wednesday morning in Patterson at the Volunteer Fire Department Station off Main Street to celebrate the delivery of a new fire truck. Patterson Fire Chief Sherel Martin said, “Among the many advantages, the new rescue vehicle will enable our 40 volunteers to execute fire and rescue procedures safely due to all the valuable equipment and will also improve our response time to scenes of an emergency.”
