It’s not just Main Street getting the holiday cheer: Par sur la Teche also has been decked with lights and displays. The City of Franklin and Main Street Program board is inviting residents with golf carts to decorate them and participate in a parade Dec. 8. Golf-cart drivers, residents and groups can bring flashlights and meet at the Lamp Post at 5:30 p.m. that night. The parade begins at 6 p.m. at the corner of Jackson and Main streets. It will move from there to the St. Mary Parish Courthouse for the city’s lamp lighting ceremony. Golf cart participants must register with City Hall at the Office of Community Development by 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.
