‘What Manner of Man’ Award

Dr. Gary Wiltz was honored by the St. Mary Parish Martin Luther King Committee during their 2012 “What Manner of Man Awards” held recently. Wiltz, center, with his daughter Suzanne at left and wife Diane at Right, is a native of New Orleans, is the sixth of seven children born to the late Sidney E. Wiltz Jr. and Helen Castanel Wiltz. He completed the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1979 and after residency was invited to join Teche Action Clinic in 1982 under the administration of Alice Drefchinski who appointed him medical director, an appointment that he held for over 20 years. In 2003, the Teche Action Board of Directors elected Dr. Wiltz as CEO of the clinic.
