Edward J. LaMark Jr., 69, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Terrebonne General Hospital in Houma, at 8:40 a.m., surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at the CWA Hall, 106 Westside Blvd., Houma, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m.
Edward was born November 12, 1942, the son of the late Edward LaMark Sr. and Queen Esther Sims LaMark. Also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley LaMark Hill.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 43 years, Helen Green LaMark; three sons, Dorton (Jacinda) Victor of Houma, Edward LaMark III and Jewel LaMark, both of Thibodaux; two daughters, Michelle (Oliver) Kenny Jr. of Houma and Regina LaMark of Baytown, Texas; a brother, Calvin LaMark of Houston, Texas; a stepsister, Hazel H. Anderson of Houma; three stepbrothers, Wilbert Lee Sr. and August Haughton Sr., both of Houma, and Claiborne Haughton of Arlington, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Edward was a practicing Catholic. He was a retired employee of Delta Oil Company. Edward was a happy and generous person who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and card games. He also spent time with others discussing the Bible with them.
