Lana Laws Downing, center right, of Franklin hands a signed copy of her just-published book “Heaven and High Water” to Pam Heffner during a signing held Thursday at the home of Clara O’Niell in Franklin. “Heaven and High Water” is a fictionalized account drawn from the early years of Downing’s mother, Alfreda Felterman Laws, with photographs and illustrations. The book is currently available at the Franklin Foundation Hospital gift shop, Grevemberg House Museum and Shadowlawn.
