2 held on narcotics charges, drugs, cash, firearm seized

Two Patterson residents were arrested Wednesday on multiple drug charges.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported that agents with the narcotics division conducted a traffic stop on Polaris Road in Patterson. Agents reportedly located marijuana in the vehicle and a search warrant was obtained for the residence of Floyd Malveaux Jr., 31, of 271 Grandwood Apartments, No. 29, in Patterson.

Hebert said agents located hydroponically grown marijuana with an approximate street value of $17,050 and cocaine valued at $5,000, as well as hashish and drug paraphernalia. They also seized $5,325 in cash and two vehicles pending forfeiture.

He was charged at 4:58 p.m. with possession of cocaine, marijuana and hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics, keeping a disorderly place and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Also arrested was Michelle Singleton, 28, same address, on charges of possession of marijuana, cocaine and hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics, keeping a disorderly place and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No bonds were set.
