Egbert Sonny Pennison, 35, of St. Marie Alley, Amelia
A second arrest has been made in the case of an adult female who is accused of having sexual intercourse with a juvenile male, according to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert.
Egbert Sonny Pennison, 35, of St. Marie Alley, Amelia, was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Thursday at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, Hebert stated in a news release.
This is the second arrest in an investigation into a complaint of carnal knowledge of a juvenile that was reported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 21.
Kayla E. Bonnette, 23, of Teche Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
During the investigation, the detective learned that Pennison had knowledge of the alleged sexual encounter between Bonnette and a 16-year-old boy at the time of the incident, Hebert stated in a news release.
Pennison is the victim’s cousin, the news release stated.
Pennison remains jailed with no bail set.
