The collision of two vehicles which occurred about noon Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 90 in Patterson required all three people involved to be transported by ambulance to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. At least one person had to be extricated.

Kathleen J. Boykin of Lockley Street, Baldwin, was driving a 2001 Nissan Sentra. Boykin entered U.S. 90 near Patterson State Bank and was struck by a white 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Eva Megan Hinman of Lake Charles.

Boykin was issued a citation for failure to yield with an accident. Her husband had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The Boykins’ vehicle spun more than 180 degrees, and Hinman’s vehicle went into the median, stopping short of the westbound lanes.
