Twenty-six 4-H members from St. Mary Parish traveled to the LSU campus in Baton Rouge to participate in the 97th Annual 4-H University June 21. More than 1,400 4-H’ers from across the state participated in the event, the culmination of a year of activities in the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H Youth Development Program.

Competition came in areas ranging from agricultural demonstrations to wildlife habitat judging and from career preparation to consumer decision-making. Other events were noncompetitive, such as Clover College, which included activities ranging from learning about seafood to robotics.

St. Mary Parish 4-H winners and participants are Michael Mancuso, State Science, Engineering and Technology Board Member and Clover College participant; Kameron Clements – Clover College participant.

Dustin Rogers - second place – Outdoor Skills Team; Zachary Lege – Meat Identification Team; Jo’El Pellerin – fourth place – Horticulture Judging Team; James Gunn – fourth place – Horticulture Judging Team; Peter Derouen – Photography; Bradley Pousson – adult chaperone; Jacob Punch, adult chaperone.

Peyton Landry – Meat Identification Team; Grant Darden – second place – Outdoor Skills; Keith Gray – Clover College participant; Nathan Dake – Blue Ribbon Group – Horticulture Judging Team; Ashley Punch, adult chaperone; Adriana Drusini, 4-H agent; Jenni J. Ducote, 4-H agent; Bella Robinson – Blue Ribbon Group – Ag Product Demonstration; Haley Hiles – ATV Contest; Haley Minor - Blue Ribbon Group – 4-H Has Talent.
