Morgan City High School was represented by five basketball players on the All-District 8-4A squad, including one first-team selection.
Sophomore Jaylen Jones made the first team after averaging per-game totals of 13.4 point, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.3 steals.
The Tigers, who finished District 8-4A play with a 2-6 record that included several close losses, had four honorable mention selections, sophomore Brady Fryou, juniors Malcolm Watkins and Aquinndas “Buddy” Humphrey, and senior Eric Walker.
Vandebilt Catholic’s Lionheart Leslie and Elijah McGuire were named co-most valuable players, while South Terrebonne’s Tyrone Smith was the district’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Vandebilt coach Henry Washington, whose squad won the district title with an 8-0 mark, was named Coach of the Year.
