AK-47 rounds fired at sign pass close to deputy's cruiser; alleged shooter charged

FRANKLINGTON – A man allegedly finding sport in shooting highway signs has been arrested after rounds passed a nearby sheriff’s cruiser.

Deputies said Jospeh Easterling was allegedly firing an AK-47 assault rifle at highway signs from a vehicle.

Easterling was among a group of people in the vehicle. He also allegedly had a .22 rifle.

He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, illegal discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property.

The driver, Laken Breanna Magee, was charged with criminal mischief and reckless operation of a vehicle.
