Antoine Da’mon Yelling, 11, a resident of Jeanerette and native of Franklin, died January 9, 2013, at 7:10 p.m., at his residence following a long illness.

He is survived by his mother, Monique Latell Yelling of Jeanerette; father, Antonio Lamonte Blackburn Sr. of Verdunville; seven brothers, Tahij Bourgeois and Tahi’jell Blackburn of Franklin, Dallas Grey of Patterson, Antonio Gaskin of Tallahassee, Florida, Antonio Blackburn Jr. of New Iberia, Caine Muegee of Oklahoma, and Antonious Yelling of Jeanerette; and five sisters, Jashaylin Yelling of Franklin, Nashaylin Brown of Baldwin, Alonzae Yelling of Jeanerette, Falynn Blackburn of St. Martinville and Shabreanna Phillips of Houston, Texas.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, January 19, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Otis Chapel in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the chapel, with the Rev. Arnold Ray Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Charenton.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
