Adele Martinez Maillet, 80, entered into heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, with her loving family at her side. She was a native of New Orleans and long-time resident of Laplace who resided in Baton Rouge.

She graduated high school from St. Joseph’s on Tulane. She was part owner of Fabrique Boutique in Laplace and co-founder of Maillet Inc. in Morgan City.

She was the beloved wife of the late Huron J. Maillet for 49 years; the loving mother of Gregory J. Maillet, Malinda M. Chartier and husband Peter, and Timothy E. Maillet; and the proud grandmother of Rene H. Maillet.

She was the daughter of the late Vera Gilkers Martinez and John R. Martinez, and sister of Gloria M. Meo and late brother-in-law Peter Meo. Adele is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until funeral time. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.
