Agencies report local arrests

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests overnight, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:

—Gregory S. Payne, 37, of Oregon Street, Berwick, arrested at 11:14 p.m. Thursday at a residence on Saturn Road in Bayou Vista for domestic abuse battery. Booked and incarcerated in the parish jail with no bond set.

—Jerrel R. Hancock, 22, of Keno Road, Abbeville, arrested at The Plantation Inn in Bayou Vista at 1:42 a.m. today for simple battery. He is alleged to have pushed the victim to the ground. Booked and incarcerated into parish jail with bond set at $500.

—David Charpentier, 33, of Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested on Lake Palourde Road at 6:53 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana second offense. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for failure to signal. No bond has been set.

The Morgan City Police Department reported the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:

—Gerome Lee Grey, 34, of Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, arrested at home at 11:10 p.m. Thursday on a hold for Jefferson Parish for failure to return leased merchandise. No bond information available.

—Michael Borton Caballero, 23, of Telegraph Street, Napoleonville, arrested at the Assumption Parish Detention Center at 9:40 a.m. Thursday on a bench warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on the charge of disturbing the peace fighting. MCPD officers traveled to Assumption Parish to arrest him. Bond is set at $581.

The Berwick Police Department arrested a 13-year-old juvenile for curfew violation on Third Street at 12:57 a.m. today, Chief James Richard said. Released to parents with a summons to appear in court.
