A Basile man awaiting trial for attempted second degree murder was arrested Monday on new charges, posted bond and was released, according to Acadia Parish records.

Devin Redlich, 25, was charged with aggravated battery and criminal damage to property following investigation of a domestic disturbance on Hwy. 97 near Bearcat Road.

His bond was set at $25,000 by District Judge Kristian Earles.

Redlich apparently posted it. He was not listed Tuesday in the Acadia Parish Jail census.

He was indicted by an Acadia grand jury earlier this year on charges stemming from allegedly slashing two men in Basile in November 2010.

Redlich is charged with attempting to kill one man and battery with a dangerous weapon on the other.

He was initially arrested by Evangeline authorities, but a court held that arrest invalid because the incident occurred on the Evangeline side of the parishes’ boundary line.

Redlich was apparently on bond in that case when arrested on Monday.

He also has pending in Eunice City Court a criminal mischief charge to which he pleaded not guilty at pre-trial hearing in February.
