An alleged bomb threat by an extremely bombed man landed him in the Eunice City Jail.

Police arrested a Mississippi man on Tuesday for disturbing the peace after he was allegedly “threatening to blow up people with a bomb” in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter in Eunice.

Last week, the same Walmart was the scene of a lip-locker attack by a Houston truck driver allegedly intent on getting kisses from employees and customers.

In the current case, David St. Amant, 44, of Ocean Springs was arrested on Tuesday, shortly after 6 p.m., but was not booked for almost 24 hours, until Wednesday at approximately 4:30 p.m.

“He was too intoxicated for booking at the time of arrest,” said Deputy Chief of Police Varden Guillory. “He had no weapons on him but he was very intoxicated.”

According to police radio logs, a came in at 6:06 p.m. with a caller who advised that there was a disturbance involving three men at the Walmart Supercenter.

The caller advised that there were “three gentlemen threatening to blow up stuff” and that the subjects said that they were going to “come back with the bombs” that were in their silver, Dodge Intrepid.

It’s unclear how they qualified as gentlemen.

Anyhow, one of the men, Steven Ladner, was taken into police custody and advised of his Miranda rights but refused to talk.

Police say was then released.

Police say that a laptop computer was seized but is still under investigation.

The third man was not identified nor charged.
