The barge in the Charenton Navigation and Drainage Canal was righted late last week by LAD Services LLC, of Morgan City. The current owners of the barge, which fell over in the canal in April 2010, were able to flip the derelict over and begin work to patch holes. St. Mary Parish President Paul Naquin said this morning the company hopes to have it completely afloat by week’s end.
