DESIGNING SUPERMARKET bouquets was the topic of guest speaker Ann Brown during Bayou Vista Garden Club’s October meeting. The Rouses Supermarket florist demonstrated several types of designs.
Ann Brown, florist at Rouses Supermarket in Morgan City, presented the program for Bayou Vista Garden Club’s October meeting.

She demonstrated the steps in designing arrangements for supermarket bouquets. The “posy” bouquet featured pink roses, baby’s breath and leather leaf. The autumnal-table centerpiece featured a candle, sunflowers, roses, carnations and a variety of foliage.

Pam Breaux, BVGC horticulture chairman, conducted a member plant exchange.

Hostesses for the meeting were Donna Bucci and Marge Williams. A creative, vertical floral design was constructed by Bucci. It included sunflowers, a palm spathe and aspidistra.

The door prize winner was Mary Myers.

The next BVGC meeting is scheduled Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bayou Vista Community Center.
