The annual FoodNet Food for Families Drive is Wednesday with three drop-off points in western St. Mary Parish.

All donations collected locally will go the Emergency Aid Center in Franklin, a United Way for South Louisiana agency.

Suggested donations include:

—Dry goods: dry beans, rice, macaroni and cheese, pasta, flour, sugar, dry soup, cornbread mix, grits, oatmeal, dry milk, cereal, Jell-O, coffee/filters

—Snack foods: popcorn, cooking oil, peanut butter

—Canned goods: tuna, meats, vegetables, fruit, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, applesauce, fruit juice

—Special needs: Ensure, adult diapers, baby formula, baby food, baby diapers, baby powder and bath supplies.

“Every little bit helps,” said Emergency Aid Center Director Patti Ibert. “We invite you to help in any way you can. Whether you are donating a can, or a truckload, people desperately need your help.” Monetary donations are also welcome.

The drive is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Drop off points include the Church of Assumption on First Street in Franklin, the Baldwin Fire Department and Calvary Bible Church in Centerville.
