Franklin F&AM Lodge 57 hosted a lunch for St. Mary Parish Red Ribbon campaign workers Wednesday at the lodge on Main Street in Franklin. This national awareness week has been observed in St. Mary Parish schools and communities for more than 20 years. The St. Mary Parish Red Ribbon Committee began as a grassroots organization. Now, however, it boasts a full-time presence of drug and alcohol awareness activities and promotions such as Safe and Sober Prom, a Mardi Gras Safe Celebration campaign, Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Awareness and numerous school programs and events.
