Drug task force agents arrested a man on multiple warrants Wednesday.

Douglas Bancroft, 51, of Fourth Street in Berwick was arrested at 1:16 p.m. on warrants for possession of marijuana, possession of Xanax, possession of Klonopin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bancroft was located at his residence, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

In Morgan City Wednesday, police arrested Ken Enclarde, 33, of Meraux for second-degree battery.

MCPD detectives investigated a report of a robbery which occurred outside a local lounge on March 3. During the robbery, the victim was beaten and robbed of a watch valued at approximately $5,000. The victim received injuries during the robbery, enhancing the charge to second degree, Chief Mark Folse said.

Enclarde was developed as a suspect, and the investigation resulted in the warrant being issued. He was located in St. Bernard Parish by authorities there and taken into custody, then transported to Morgan City Jail and booked with no bond set.

Jonathan D. Franklin, 24, of Garber Street in Morgan City was arrested Wednesday at 3:46 p.m. after fleeing City Court.

Franklin turned himself in at City Court to serve time on a sentence issued by the court. While being escorted to the jail by officers, the subject stated he wasn’t going to jail and fled on foot, Folse said.

A foot pursuit began and responding officers were able to capture the suspect in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where he fought with officers before being taken back into custody.

He remains in custody without bond on charges of simple escape and resisting an officer.
