Three vehicles were damaged, two severely, in a suspected arson in Brownell Homes early this morning.

Morgan City Police Chief Marc Folse said a fire was set in the vicinity of the office where the housing authority vehicles are kept.

A Chevy van and a 2000 Ford F-150 were severely damaged and a third vehicle sustained some damage because of its proximity to the fire, Folse said.

Police and fire officials responded the scene around 3 a.m. Firemen had the scene cleared by 4:16 a.m. Three trucks and six personnel responded to the blaze.

The incident remains under investigation by both agencies.
