At large suspect currently being sought by numerous law enforcement agencies outside of Kentwood

Kaumba McGee, 36, is currently on the loose from Washington Parish Sheriff's Office near Highway 38 East in Kentwood (river bridge). According to TPSO, a traffic stop was initiated on the suspect for outstanding warrants that include aggravated rape, kidnapping, criminal damage and 4 counts of attempted first degree murder of an officer. Currently on scene in the search are TPSO Special Response Team, Mounted Division, K-9 Division, Deputies and Detectives, Kentwood Police, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Franklinton Police. Though no one was injured, the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. McGee has been known to have a Kentwood address in the past.

The public is urged to remain in their homes and be vigilant of their surroundings.

There are currently officers posted from the river bride east of Kentwood off Highway 38 along the Tangipahoa River to the Mississippi state line.
