SHREVEPORT — Two local horseshoe pitchers won their respective divisions of the Louisiana State Singles Horseshoe Pitching Championships here Sept. 29-30.

Tim Gilmore of Bayou Vista won the Class A Senior Men’s division, while Judy Doré of Patterson was first in the Class C Women’s group.

Gilmore finished with a perfect 5-0 mark and a ringer percentage of 59, while Doré recorded a 7-2 mark and a 28.4 ringer percentage.

The duo was two of 16 BHPA participants and two of the 12 who placed.

Isaac Chavalia of Houma, a BHPA member, also placed first in the Class C Men’s division with a 5-1 mark and a 25.8 ringer percentage.

Tracy Verret of Gibson, also a BHPA member, won first place in the Class D Women’s division with a 5-0 mark and a ringer percentage of 30.

BHPA participants also picked up two second-place finishes and six third-place marks.

Kevin Doré placed second in the Class B Men, while Angela Percle finished second in the Class A Women. Doré recorded a 4-1 mark and a ringer percentage of 30 percent, while Percle finished with a 3-2 mark and a 42.6 ringer percentage.

The six third-place finishers were Jimmy Percle of Morgan City in the Class B Men, Greg Comeaux of Centerville in the Class D Men, David Comeaux of Centerville in the Class F Men, Dudley Michel of Bayou Vista in the Class A Senior Men, Linda Dodson of Morgan City in the Class B Women and Kevin Doré Jr. of Patterson in the Class Juniors.

Jimmy Percle finished with a 3-2 mark and a 27.5 ringer percentage, while Greg Comeaux finished with a 3-2 mark and a 17.5 ringer percentage.

David Comeaux finished with a 3-2 mark and a ringer percentage of nine, while Michel finished with a 2-3 mark and a ringer percentage of 48.

Dodson finished the event with a 5-2 mark and a ringer percentage of 40, while Kevin Doré Jr. finished with a 3-2 mark and a ringer percentage of 12.5.
