Berwick and Morgan City both picked up victories against Central Catholic and Terrebonne, respectively, in boys’ and girls’ bowling action Wednesday, the first matches of the regular season.

In boys’ action, Berwick beat Central Catholic, 24.5 to 2.5 at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City, while Morgan City defeated Terrebonne, 20-7, at Creole Lanes in Houma.

In girls’ action, Berwick defeated Central Catholic, 21-6, while Morgan City defeated Terrebonne, 20.5 to 6.5.

Among the Berwick participants who scored points were Devon Quick (226, 268), Paul Reed (179, 176), Chance Fraley (184, 165), Carl Reed (167, 170), Aaron Barrilleaux (123, 181, 129), William Ledford (123) and Dontrell Clark (108).

For Central Catholic, Kyle Autin (170), Josh Abney (149) and Matthew David (108) scored points.

In Morgan City’s win, Chandler Delaune (233, 237), Taylor Brocato (231, 214, 176), Lang Bui (191, 209), Ryan Veillion (159, 222), Austin Courtney (178, 170), Jonathan LaCombe (161) and Shawn Francis (156) led the squad.

In the Berwick girls’ victory, Elle Arcemont (162, 199), Katie Chandler (121, 153), Mikayla Allen (148), Kourtney Kennedy (147), Lauran Delco (117, 129) and Kera Domangue (116) led Berwick.

For Central Catholic, Katrina Robertson (146, 112), Jada Pennison (146), Ann Mary Dupuis (146) and Alex Aucoin (132, 121) were tops.

In the Morgan City girls’ victory against Terrebonne, Kristi Wright (122, 152, 125), Lauren Aucoin (125, 147, 93), Cayce Keton (129), Cheri Sons (122), Rylee Sartwell (118) and Alyssa Rich (112) led the way.

All local teams will resume action Monday as Central Catholic and South Lafourche boys’ and girls’ squads meet at Creole Lanes at 3:40 p.m., while Morgan City’s and Berwick’s boys’ and girls’ teams will bowl at the same time at Charlie’s Lanes.
