NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK was celebrated June 5-11. St. Mary Parish Councilman Glen Hidalgo, District 4, signed a proclamation. Sponsored by National Garden Clubs, it is a special week designed to focus public attention on the programs, projects and activities promoted by garden clubs. IN RECOGNITION OF National Garden Week, Bayou Vista Garden Club donated books to Bayou Vista Branch Library. In support of NGW, Bayou Vista Garden Club donated three books to Bayou Vista Branch Library. The books presented to librarian Dana Robin were “A Guide to Natural Gardening” by Jim Knope; “The Rose Book” by Maggie Oster; and “Holiday Happening” edited by Barbara May, NGC President 2000-01. A Louisiana Native Plant poster was also donated.
BVGC brochures are available at the library for anyone interested in club membership.
