Barbara Pierce Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, will deliver the address for the closing ceremonies of Nicholls State University’s Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy slated Wednesday.

Tickets are now available for $25 each and must be purchased with the downloadable order form available at www.nicholls.edu/news/?p2511.

Refreshments will be served at 2:30 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union, followed by service project presentations at 3:30 and the keynote address at 4:30.

Bush, a member of UNICEF’s Next Generation steering committee, is also the CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, serves on the board of directors for Covenant House International and is a Draper Richards Foundation Social Entrepreneur. She graduated from Yale University in 2004 with a degree in Humanities.

Sponsored by the Louisiana Center for Women and Government, headquartered at Nicholls, the Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy is designed to educate potential leaders in community and public service through responsible leadership. High-achieving girls entering grades 8 through 11 in the 2011-12 school year were competitively selected by committee to attend the academy.
