The teen injured in a fight at the Jessie B. Hayes Boat Landing Thursday succumbed to his injuries Sunday.

Cameron Gragg, 19, of Patterson received head injuries in the fight with Bannon L. Lightsey, 19, of Camille Drive in Patterson.

Bannon was charged Friday morning with aggravated second-degree battery. Sheriff Mark Hebert said information concerning the incident will be forwarded to the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s office to determine if charges will be upgraded.

Acadian Ambulance transported Gragg to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City for treatment after a deputy was flagged down by witnesses who advised that the victim had been hit in the head with a bat, Hebert said.

Lightsey was located at his residence and brought to the sheriff's office for questioning before being arrested. He remained incarcerated in the parish jail this morning with no bond set.
