Bayou Vista Garden Club members recently attended the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Summer Board in Baton Rouge.

The gathering of LGCF members from across the state was held to conduct mid-year business that included LGCF committee chairmen and district directors’ reports of their activities and projects.

Holding business meetings and nominating officers for 2013-15 were National Garden Club School Councils that included Flower Show Judges, Environmental Consultants, Gardening Study and Landscape Design.

An Awards Workshop was held to inform members of changes in the awards applications, which will now follow with National Garden Club guidelines.

The program for the Club Presidents/Life Members Luncheon was “The Monarch Butterfly and Butterfly Conservation.” Joe Baucum gave the presentation and offered a copy of the DVD for any member who would like to present the program to other groups.

BVGC members in attendance were Donna Bucci, vice president and LGCF immediate past president; Jo Ann Ryan, and Sandra Blanco.
