According to a statement recently by Fire Chief Chuck Bourgeois, Boudreaux had an accident which, along with multiple complications, ultimately led to the amputation of his left leg in June.
The events begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. Registration is $35 for the duathlon and $20 for the fun run.
All bicycles will be accepted. Contestants will be grouped into traditional and non-traditional categories by bicycle type, and winners will be awarded in each category.

The walk/run portion of the event begins at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse, moves down Willow Street and across the Bayou Teche Bridge and then turns right on Eastwood Drive. It continues to Briarwood where participants will take a left, proceed to La. 87 and turn left again.
They’ll follow La. 87 to Hazelwood Subdivision, turn around at the cul-de-sac and return to Willow Street, finishing again at the courthouse.
The bicycle route also begins at the courthouse, moves across the bayou on Willow Street and then proceeds east along La. 87 to about 500 feet past the Centerville bridge approach road. The turnaround point will be marked. Cyclists will then return to the courthouse finish line.
