While Berwick (11-13 overall) is out of playoff contention, the Lady Panthers finished the season with a 6-6 mark in District 9-3A play, good enough for fourth place.
Lumberjills drop game to Erath
Patterson High School dropped its final contest of the season, a 65-26 District 9-3A loss to Erath High School at home Monday.
Erath raced out to a 17-2 lead after a period of play and led 31-10 at the half.
The visitors took a 46-24 lead after three quarters.
Tiera Butler led Patterson with 14 points and added seven rebounds, a steal and two blocks, while Jamiri Brown added six points and six rebounds. Other top Patterson contributors included Gaylen Grogan, three points and four rebounds; Nakia Brooks, three points, a rebound and a steal; and Tala Johnson, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
Patterson finished its season with a 4-17 overall mark and a 3-9 mark in district play.
Berwick boys fall
to Franklin
The Berwick Panthers finished a tough season with a 72-59 loss to Franklin in both teams’ District 9-3A finale Monday in Franklin.
While Berwick took a 28-22 lead at the half, Franklin came back with a 17-11 run in the third quarter to tie the game at 39 after three quarters.
Franklin put the game away in the final period as it outscored Berwick 32-20.
No individual stats were available for the Panthers, who finished their season with a 6-21 overall mark and a 0-12 record in district play.
