Berwick woman detained for failing to appear at drug court

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reports one arrest in the eastern part of the parish overnight, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:

Rebecca Martin, 40, of River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Thursday on Third Street, Berwick, on a failure-to-appear warrant for drug court status. She remains jailed with a $100,000 bail.

The Morgan City Police Department reports the following arrests over the past two days, according to Assistant Chief Glenn Blanco:

Myles Morgan, 24, of Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday on warrants for probation violation, failure to pay probation fees, failure to appear for simple battery on police officer and failure to appear for resisting an officer. He turned himself in at the police department after learning of the warrants. He remains jailed with bail not yet set.

Courtney Smith, 24, of Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Apple Street on a warrant for failure to pay probation fees, probation violation, and resisting an officer. He remains jailed with bail not yet set.

The Patterson Police Department and the Berwick Police Department reported that no arrests were made overnight.
