The parish kicked off its 200th anniversary celebration with a Birthday Bash in Kemper Williams Park in Patterson Saturday. Musical entertainment and a review of parish highlighted the festivities, which also included kids’ games and lots of food. The event concluded with a fireworks display over the Bayou Teche/Lower Atchafalaya.
