St. Mary Community Action Agency is beginning the third installment of its Microenterprise Development Initiative.

“We believe that small businesses and economic development strengthen our communities and promote growth,” said CEO, Almetra J. Franklin. “Our goal is to assist small businesses and help them grow efficiently in our service areas. St. Mary CAA has a vast variety of programs that can help supplement the Microenterprise program and further assist these businesses.”

Students will have the opportunity to complete the course with a better understanding of financial literacy, personal skills, how credit works, better business practices and the importance of utilizing computer technology in entrepreneurship.

MEDI eligibility requires individuals to have low to moderate income, a minor child in the household, and a desire to be a successful entrepreneur.

The cost is free to anyone that is self-motivated and eligible upon screening.
