MORGAN CITY — Central Catholic cruised past Centerville, 54-18, during nondistrict action at home Friday.

The Lady Eagles outscored Centerville in the first three quarters, holding them to two points each in the first and third quarters.

While Centerville outscored Central Catholic in the fourth quarter, 8-4, Central Catholic already had the game well in hand.

Randi Brown led the Lady Eagles with 15 points, while she also added eight steals, three blocked shots, two assists and five rebounds.

Other top contributors included Megan Landry, 11 points, nine rebounds, three steals and three assists; Meo Knight, 11 points, six steals, four assists and three rebounds; Courtney McGuire, six points, a steal, an assist and a rebound; Abbie Bergeron, four points, two steals, two assists and two rebounds; and Mary-Beth Blanchard, three points, a steal and three rebounds.

Central Catholic (8-3) will return to action Thursday when it opens play in its inaugural Lady Eagle Christmas Classic. The Lady Eagles will play Westgate at 6:30 p.m.

Berwick falls to

Delcambre, Erath

The Berwick Lady Panthers fell in consecutive days as they dropped a road game Thursday against Delcambre, 35-25, before falling Friday at home in their District 9-3A opener to Erath, 53-30.

No individual statistics were available for either game.

The Lady Panthers (3-8) will not hit the court again until Jan. 3 when they travel to neighboring Patterson for a district contest. The game is set for a 6 p.m. tip.
