BATON ROUGE _ Centerville improved to 14-12 overall and 3-2 in 8-B with a road win Tuesday night here over Hosanna Christian by a score of 68-57 in district action.

Hosanna Christian drops to 8-23 overall and 0-5 in 8-B.

Centerville will host Holden Friday night, girls varsity and boys varsity starting at 5:30. It is also homecoming for the Centerville squads.

The Centerville Bulldogs coasted early in the huge 68-57 victory over the Hosanna Christia.

CHS asserted itself early, taking a 20-7 first quarter lead of which it never relinquished. Both teams tossed in 12 points each in the second stanza as the Bulldogs nursed a 32-19 bulge at intermission. The Bulldogs went on a 17-13 surge in the third quarter for a 49-32 advantage before icing away the 68-57 triumph over Hosanna Christian for their third league victory.

Jumanji Washington fired in a game-high 34 points to propel the Centerville Bulldogs. Washington connected on 13 deuces and 8 of 11 free throws for his 34 points.

Quinton Nettles and Jerome Williams also finished in double digits for Centerville. Nettles drained 11 points on three deuces, one trey and 2 of 2 freebies while Jerome Williams pumped in 10 points on three deuces, one trey and 1 of 2 charity shots.

Rounding out the scoring for the Centerville Bulldogs were: Zacchaeus Jackson, 8; Courtland Pogue, 4, and Juwan Thomas, 2.

Hosanna Christian’s leading scorers were: Monterrea Whitfield, 19; Gerald Johnson, 13 and Josiah Marshall, 9.

CENTERVILLE’S LADY BULLDOGS fell to the Hosanna Christian 54-32 to slip to 2-14 overall and 0-4 in 8-B. Hosanna Christian is now 9-14 overall and 3-1 in 8-B.

Leading scorers for the Lady Bulldogs were: Nyketra Kennedy, 19; Alyrria Austin, 4; Sabrin Louis, 3; Rylie Candella, 2; Roshayla Gunner, 2 and Olivia Thibodeaux, 2.

Jaznyne Heatley led all scorers with 17 points while Darienne Small tallied 14 and

Lateykah Thomas finished with 11.
