LANIE BOREL AND SHELIA MORESI, employees of Central Electric Company, were guests at the March meeting of the Franklin Garden Club. Borel, Senior Residential and Commercial Business Developer for CLECO, presented a program on how to save energy, money and the environment. The formulas for saving are conservation, energy efficiency and lifestyle changes. Suggestions for savings were: Putting window units on the north or shady side, keeping heating and cooling filter clean, using programmable thermostats and setting units at 78 degrees in the summer and 68 degrees in the winter. Each garden club member was given a conservation kit which included weather stripping, caulk, a caulk gun, one compact fluorescent light bulb, window film and tape with instructions.
