MORGAN CITY, La. — A couple areas of the city experienced short power outages Saturday evening and Monday morning.

City utility workers responded to a power outage in the Lakeside area around 8 p.m. Saturday. They checked on the breaker, flipped the breaker back on and the power was restored, said city utilities director Bill Cefalu. Because the power was restored upon the workers’ arrival, no cause of the outage was determined at the time, he said.

Another outage occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. Monday in the Klingsville area. Cefalu said utility workers were looking into what may have caused both outages.

“We usually start looking at critters or branches or something like that could have fallen on the line and then got blown out of it. That’s basically what normally happens,” Cefalu said.
