THE MORGAN CITY JUNIOR HIGH volleyball teams hosted Berwick Junior High school for MCJHS’ annual Paint the Gym Pink game. The theme for this year’s event was “Throw Us a Cure, Mister.” In the weeks prior to the game, MCJHS raised
money through such methods as the volleyball team’s Cancer Walk-A-Thon and the selling of T-shirts. BJHS also raised money by selling T-shirts. Proceeds from Monday’s seventh- and eight-grade volleyball games, as well as other
fundraisers, will go to the fight against breast cancer in St. Mary Parish. In the top photo, Patterson Mayor Rodney Grogan served as the guest speaker during the ceremony prior to the game. In the middle photo, MCJHS student Jahne Bailey
sings and in the bottom photo, the Berwick Junior High cheerleaders perform. Spirit squads from MCJHS, as well as the school’s twirlers and BJHS’ mascot, Pete the Panther, also performed during the event. MCJHS volleyball coach Allise Jennings thanked the community for their support and donations with this fundraiser to fight cancer.
