MORGAN CITY _ The Central Catholic Eagles set the tone early, building a 21-6 first quarter lead en route to a 49-6 District 8-A victory over the Hanson Memorial Tigers here Friday at Tiger Stadium.

Central Catholic (5-3, 3-0) scored 21 points in the first quarter and 28 more in the second quarter for the 49-6 win.

Hanson (3-5, 1-2) got on the score board on a 63-yard run by leading rusher Collin Broussard, who finished with 17 carries for 86 yards.

Broussard led the Tigers in rushing with 17 totes for 86 yards and one touchdown while Drake Businelle carried 12 times for 36 yards.

Drake Rodriguez connected on a 16-yard strike to Jacob Stewart for the Tigers.

Hanson will close out the regular season next Friday at Gueydan in District 8-A play.
