Charles Columbus Nelson, 75, a native of Bloomburg, Texas, and a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at his residence.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Dupre Nelson of Bayou Vista; one son, Charles J. Nelson and wife Mary Margaret of Morgan City; one daughter, Mary Lynn Nelson Theriot and husband Wendel of Patterson; eight grandchildren, Caleb and Chett Von Buelow, Harley and Layla Nelson, Zachary, Zoey, Abby and Avery Theriot; two brothers, Lee Nelson and wife Ellen of Berwick and Jack Eubanks Jr. and wife Susan of Hosston; one sister, Carolyn Fontenot and husband Lee of Bayou Vista; along with numerous nieces and nephews

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Della Evans Nelson; four half-brothers and one half-sister.

A memorial Mass will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church hall on Wednesday.
