Sydney Lynne Brown and Jan Michael Chua exchanged vows on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 4 p.m. under the oak trees at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens in Darrow, Louisiana. The bride and groom exchanged rings under the oak trees in a religious ceremony that included traditional Filipino customs. Reverend Susie Thomas officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Marie Brown of Houston. The groom is the son of Dr. Jesus and Marlette Chua of Franklin.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless, lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and tulle skirt designed by Enzoani complimented by a lace hairpiece worn to the side. She carried a bouquet of blush Sahara roses, ranunculus, succulent and Christmas thistle.

The bridesmaids were Marla Chua, sister of the groom; Hayley Westphal; Leacy Rowe; Megan Kidder; Sarah Emmich and Melissa Boucher. They wore long, strapless, chiffon dresses by Priscilla of Boston in eggplant and carried bouquets to match the bride’s, but included purple dahlias.

The groomsmen were James Chua, brother of the groom; John Aycock; Donnie Stiel; Scott Eldridge and Robbie Walsh.

Following a reception held at The Pavilion at Houmas House, the couple departed for a honeymoon trip to Jamaica.

The couple now resides in Baton Rouge.
