City council meets last time for 2011

Franklin City Council members made quick work of a short agenda Tuesday in their last meeting of 2011.

The council introduced an ordinance setting the speed limits in the city and adopted another renewing liquor licenses in Franklin.

They passed three resolutions for grant applications from various sources.

Also Tuesday, the council passed a resolution supporting the appointment of St. Mary Parish Levee District President Bill Hidalgo to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority board.

Mayor Raymond Harris also noted that he was in receipt of a letter from Cox Communications that another round of rate increases are planned by the cable and Internet provider.
