Franklin City Council members meet Tuesday in regular session for September.

The council will consider introduction of an ordinance for the sale of public improvement revenue bonds. This is an amendment for a previously authorized bond sale for street repairs and renovations to city hall.

Resolutions include support for a state cultural development governmental assistance program; authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with the state treasury to obtain an allocation of $250,000 secured during the last legislative session for city hall repairs; engagement of engineers for street repairs; lifting the open container law for Oct. 6 events; and appointing special litigation counsel.

There are two proclamations recognizing Hakim Ruffin for placing three times in the Track and Field Junior Olympics, and for Avontre Perro for placing twice in the Track and Field Junior Olympics.

Mayor Raymond Harris is slated to offer the reappointment of Phil Bell and Greg Paul to the West St. Mary Parish Port Commission.

And Councilman Eugene Foulcard is scheduled to discuss “AmeriPure environmental issues.”

The council meets at 6 p.m. at city hall on Iberia Street.
