America Recycles Day is Nov. 15 and the City of Franklin and Chez Hope encourage citizens to donate gently used items that are in good condition to Chez Hope.

“This is a good time to do winter cleaning before family and friends come home for the holidays and to give to Chez Hope,” Mayor Raymond Harris said. “That’s two good deeds on top of performing the reducing and reusing components of recycling.”

Program Coordinator Cherrise Picard said, “Chez Hope will accept items that are used to set up a home, and that includes furniture. All the donor has to do is come to Chez Hope so that a time can be arranged for delivery of that furniture.”

Donations can be brought to 202 Jackson St. in Franklin. Donations will be accepted from Nov. 15-22.

Chez Hope provides emergency housing and other services to victims of domestic violence.
