She was booked into the parish jail where she remained this morning with no bond set.

The Morgan City Police Department participated in an investigation with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries after receiving a report of a woman raising baby alligators in her home.

Anna Reed, 18, of North Third Street in Morgan City was issued a citation by LDWF after four creatures were removed from her home around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

MCPD Chief Marc Folse reminds residents that it is a violation of both state and federal regulations to raise such animals without a permit. Doing so garners stiff fines and penalties, he added.
