Crowley man shot to death

CROWLEY – A man was shot to death during an incident here shortly after 1 a.m. Friday.

Brian Keith LaFleur, 30, of Crowley died as a result of bullet wounds, according to Acadia Sheriff Wayne Melancon.

The shooting occured at the Meadows Apartment Complex.

A warrant for 2nd Degree Murder has been issued for Nathaniel Bates, 25, of W 5th Street in Crowley.

According to investigators the shooting was the result of an argument that began at the apartment complex.

During the altercation, a second individual received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to the American Legion Hospital where he was treated and released. His name was not revealed.
