Alli Landry was crowned queen and David Adams Naquin was named her king during the 76th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Coronation Court held Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Landry, 19-year-old daughter of Mike and Laurie Landry of Bayou Vista, is a Berwick High School graduate at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge majoring in communication disorders. Naquin, a Franklin native, is the recently retired St. Mary Parish Sheriff. He and his wife Joy have two children and three granddaughters. Naquin is a Franklin High School graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. His law enforcement career began in 1974 with the Monroe Police Department. He has taught criminal justice classes for Louisiana State University. The former Franklin police chief was St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office chief deputy before being elected St. Mary Parish Sheriff in 1995.
