The Louisiana Lions Cubsight Program recently offered free vision screenings to young students in grades pre-K and kindergarten at Holy Cross Elementary School in Morgan City. The test provides instant photographs of a child’s eyes and determines the presence of disorders including far and nearsightedness, astigmatism, strabismus, anisometropia, and media opacities or cataracts. The information obtained from the screening is preliminary only, and parents are contacted with the results. Pictured with Lions Club volunteer Shree Hebert of the Franklin Lions Club are pre-K student Mia Duhon and parent volunteer Jodi Grizzaffi. Thaddeus Marcell, president of the Morgan City Lions Club and Bill Moore, president of the Franklin Lions Club partnered together to provide “Cubsight” screenings throughout St. Mary Parish.
